Artist's Statement:

I am a visual artist working mainly with paint but explore other media as well. My paintings are contemporary abstract images. I develop series of related works, often using restricted palettes of colour. The starting points can be an idea, concept or landscape. I explore ideas such as harmony and peace, memory of place and the passage of time in different series of work. The series do overlap in places and are open ended. Currently I am exploring my visual interpretation of the words ‘roots’ and ‘routes’ using paint and ceramics. I work both on my own projects and collaboratively with fellow artists in the Art-Routes group.
