Artist's Statement:

I tend to make groups of paintings defined by the framework of interests engaging me during their production.
My latest collection, Mission Simulator, was made after a trip to the USA. This was my first visit and one with personal significance. In England we receive a large quantity of our TV from America, both dramatic and 'factual'. Like it or not, some of this information shapes our understanding of how the world may be. For instance, one of my earliest memories is of watching the black and white images of the Apollo space missions. Reconciling this with the hardware on show at the Kennedy Space Centre was a strange experience.
What interested me with this collection was the area where the real comes into question. The gap between the edited media we receive and our own selectively processed information.
