Artist's Statement:

I love everything about working in mosaics – from design to final grouting.  Mosaic as an art form suits me well – its very constraints offer the challenge either to breakout and rebel or knuckle down and conform – it is good to do both! The inspiration for my work comes both from my surroundings – particularly the animals, and from the materials– from the vibrancy of stained glass to the subtle textured rusty metal. I also like working to commission – this often leads in a direction I would not naturally take but opens up new avenues to explore.
