Artist's Statement:
I work as an art photographer and image-maker. I use my own photographs, scanned objects and original artwork as source material to create a blend of bold form and intricate detail. My output is digital fine art prints and collage.
I use photographs of natural objects and urban landscapes to create images with an element of ambiguity, sometimes figurative, sometimes abstracted. My work covers diverse themes from flowers and people through to derelict factories.
Layering and blending techniques are used to combine source material to create an outcome that has the look and feel of a traditional fine art print. To retain complete control I produce my own prints on archival paper.
My current project is 'Matlock at Work', a photo-documentary depicting the working life of the town in both reportage and creative images, which I hope will be the first of many more community based art projects.
